Stumped at Brainard Lake

A stump in front of a lake and mountains

The Pic: Stumped at Brainard Lake

One of my biggest take-aways from this shot is the need to always be looking for interesting shots. While at this lake, I had already taken several shot that I thought were going to be keepers. However, after I had packed the camera up and collapsed my tripod, I noticed this cool old tree stump out of the corner of my eye, laying right next to the shore. This has turned out to be one of my favorite shots from the trip so far, and if I hadn’t been constantly looking around (even after I thought I was done) I would have missed it.
